How to reach Reliant Park, formerly NRG Park, for the 2027 Rodeo, March 2 to 21.
Houston rodeo transportation comes down to one question: how do you reach Reliant Park and get home without losing an hour to lots, lines, and late pickups?
Quick answer: For travelers who want door-to-door service without parking or shuttle schedules, a prearranged private chauffeur is one of the simplest options. METRORail is the lowest-cost option at $1.25 one way. Public Rodeo parking was $25 per car in 2026.
The table below compares the main options by cost, drop-off point, and best fit.
Houston Rodeo 2027 Dates at Reliant Park
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo runs Tuesday, March 2 to Sunday, March 21, 2027, at Reliant Park. The World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest runs February 25 to 27, 2027.
The Rodeo welcomes millions of visitors each year, so plan your ride early. The official 2027 calendar also lists Opening Day on March 2 and First Responders Day on March 8.
Why getting there is the hard part
Public parking costs $25 per car in 2026. The last park and ride bus to Reliant Park leaves at 9 p.m. Kirby Drive closes at 9 p.m. on weekdays and 6 p.m. on weekends. When the show ends, large crowds leave at once. A plan made before you go removes much of that stress.
Houston Rodeo Transportation Options Compared
| Option | Cost to you | Best for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Drive and park | $25 per car at Yellow, 610, and OST lots (2026 rate) | Small groups on a budget | Walk or tram to the gate, plus exit traffic |
| Park and ride | Free to $25 to park, plus a ride fee at some lots | Guests arriving early and watching costs | Last bus to the park leaves at 9 p.m. |
| METRORail | $1.25 one way | Guests near a rail line | Check current late-night service before your trip |

Where to Park for the Houston Rodeo
Official lots at Reliant Park
All Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo parking lots are cashless. The official 2026 listing included these public parking options:
- Yellow Lot: Gate 16, 9003 S Main St. Opens daily at 6 a.m. $25 plus tax.
- 610 Lot: Gate 19 or 20, 2100 W Bellfort Blvd. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. $25.
- OST Lot: 2103 South Braeswood. Weekdays from 5 p.m., weekends from 9 a.m. $25, with a shuttle bus.
Free Rodeo trams carry guests between parking lots and the grounds.
Accessible parking
A limited number of ADA and van-accessible spaces are available in the Blue and Yellow lots for $25 a day. They are first come, first served and subject to availability. A valid state-issued handicap placard or vehicle registration is required.
Why some guests skip parking altogether
A parked car can mean a walk, a gate line, and an exit queue at night. For guests who prefer door-to-door transportation, a prearranged chauffeur avoids the parking and shuttle process.
Houston Rodeo Park and Ride: How It Works
Lots and shuttle options
Park and ride lots send shuttles to Reliant Park. The official 2026 list includes:
- West Loop and Monroe: free to park, $7 round trip for ages 4 and older. Ages 3 and younger ride free.
- OST: $25 to park. The shuttle bus is free, or METRORail is $2.50 round trip.
- Reed Road: $25 to park, with the shuttle included.
- Maxey: free to park, $4 round trip per person.
- Fannin South: $25 to park, with free METRORail passes.
The Woodlands Express requires a reservation.
Timing to know
For 2026, the last bus from satellite lots to Reliant Park leaves at 9 p.m. The last bus back leaves the park at 1 a.m. Sunday to Thursday and 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
On weekdays, OST, West Loop, Monroe, and Maxey run from 5 p.m. On weekends, OST, West Loop, and Monroe start at 9 a.m., while Maxey starts at 11 a.m. Reed Road runs daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the Rodeo.
When park and ride does not fit
Park and ride works well for early arrivals. It may be less convenient if you arrive after 9 p.m., travel with older guests, or are hosting clients in formal clothing.
Rideshare and Drop Off at Reliant Park
Where each type of vehicle stops
- Rideshare and taxi: east end of Yellow Lot 35. The vehicle entrance is Yellow Lot 16B off Main Street.
- Public passenger drop-off: Gate 9 off Kirby Drive, 8825 Kirby Dr. Kirby Drive closes at 9 p.m. on weekdays and 6 p.m. on weekends.
- Limos and private buses: Green Lot, Gate 13 off Lantern Point. Space is limited and first come, first served. Follow parking-attendant directions.
After the show
Expect a crowd at the rideshare pickup area when the show lets out, and app-based fares may rise at busy times. For a closer comparison, read our Houston car service vs. rideshare guide for business travelers.
